The Battle of Tofrek, fought on March 22, 1885, was a significant conflict during the Sudanese campaign led by British and Egyptian forces against Mahdist Sudanese rebels. Located near the town of Tofrek, the battle arose from a strategic effort to secure control over the Sudan, which was experiencing turmoil due to the rise of the Mahdist movement.
