The Battle of Sinhagad, fought in 1670 near Pune, India, was a significant conflict between the Maratha forces led by Tanaji Malusare and the Mughal Empire. Tanaji aimed to recapture the fort of Sinhagad, which had strategic importance. Despite facing a stronger Mughal army led by Udaybhan Rathod, Tanaji's innovative tactics and bravery led to a fierce night-time assault. He ultimately succeeded but was mortally wounded.
