Battle of Plassey
The Battle of Plassey, fought in 1757, was a turning point in Indian history. British East India Company forces, led by Robert Clive, clashed with Siraj-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Bengal, who was trying to resist British influence. With the help of a traitor within Siraj’s camp, the British won decisively. This victory allowed the British to take control of Bengal, establishing a strong foothold in India. It marked the beginning of British dominance in the region, leading to almost two centuries of colonial rule.
