Battle of Granada
The Battle of Granada (1492) was a decisive conflict in the Granada War, marking the end of Muslim rule in Spain. Ferdinand and Isabella’s forces captured the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada from the Muslim Nasrid Sultanate, unifying Spain under Christian rule. The siege lasted several months, during which the city’s defenders and residents faced siege hardships. The victory completed the Reconquista, a centuries-long Christian effort to reclaim Iberian territories from Muslim control, and led to the expulsion or conversion of Muslims and Jews in Spain. It significantly shaped Spain's history, culture, and religious landscape.
