Basilica of Justinian

The Basilica of Justinian, also known as Hagia Sophia, is a historic architectural masterpiece located in Istanbul, Turkey. Completed in 537 AD under Emperor Justinian I, it was originally built as a cathedral and served as the center of Orthodox Christianity for nearly 1,000 years. It is renowned for its massive dome and stunning mosaics, symbolizing the zenith of Byzantine architecture. After the Ottoman conquest in 1453, it was converted into a mosque and later became a museum. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its artistic and architectural significance.
