Barnard's Star
Barnard's Star is a small, dim red dwarf star located about 6 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Ophiuchus. It is the second closest star system to us after Proxima Centauri. Notable for its high proper motion, Barnard's Star travels across the sky faster than any other star relative to Earth. Discovered by astronomer Edward Emerson Barnard in 1916, it has sparked interest in the search for exoplanets, as studies suggest it might host planets despite its faintness. Its proximity makes it a target for future exploration and study of stellar environments beyond our solar system.
