Barmen Declaration

The Barmen Declaration, made in 1934 by German Protestant theologians, was a response to the growing influence of the Nazi regime on churches. Its main message affirmed that Jesus Christ is the only source of authority for the church, rejecting any attempt to align Christianity with political ideologies. The declaration emphasized faithfulness to the teachings of the Bible and the need for the church to resist any compromise with the state that undermines its mission.
