Bangsamoro

Bangsamoro refers to a region in the Philippines that represents the homeland of the Bangsamoro people, primarily consisting of Muslims. It encompasses areas in Mindanao, where there has been a long history of conflict between Muslim groups seeking autonomy and the Philippine government. The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) was established in 2019, following a peace agreement aimed at granting self-governance and addressing historical injustices. This region aims to enhance political representation, economic development, and cultural preservation for the Bangsamoro people while promoting peace and stability in the area.
