Axes (Geometry)

In geometry, axes are the reference lines used to define a coordinate system, usually in two or three dimensions. The most common axes are the horizontal (x-axis) and vertical (y-axis) lines in a 2D graph, which help plot points and visualize relationships between variables. In 3D space, a third line (z-axis) is added for depth. These axes intersect at a point called the origin, usually marked as (0,0) in 2D or (0,0,0) in 3D. Understanding axes allows us to describe positions and movements in space accurately.
