Assyrian Americans
Assyrian Americans are descendants of the ancient Assyrian civilization, primarily from regions that are now part of Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Turkey. They are a distinct ethnic group with a rich cultural heritage that includes a unique language (Assyrian Neo-Aramaic), traditional customs, and a history dating back thousands of years. Many Assyrian Americans immigrated to the United States fleeing persecution and conflict, particularly during the late 20th century. Today, they actively contribute to American society while preserving their cultural identity, often through community organizations, churches, and cultural events that celebrate their history and traditions.
