Assyrian

The Assyrians were an ancient civilization that emerged in the Mesopotamian region, primarily in what is now northern Iraq, around 2500 BCE. Known for their military prowess, intricate art, and significant contributions to writing and architecture, they established one of the first major empires in history. The Assyrian Empire reached its peak between the 9th and 7th centuries BCE, covering much of the Near East. Their capital cities, like Nineveh and Ashur, were centers of culture and governance. Today, the Assyrian people still exist as an ethnic minority, maintaining their language and cultural heritage.
