Ashwamedha

The Ashwamedha, or Horse Sacrifice, is an ancient Vedic ritual in Hinduism, performed by kings to assert their sovereignty and expand their territories. A consecrated horse, allowed to roam freely for a specific period, signifies the ruler's power. If the horse wanders into neighboring kingdoms, their leaders must either accept the king's authority or challenge him.
