AS (Autonomous Systems)

An Autonomous System (AS) is a collection of interconnected networks and routers under a single organization or entity that operates with a common routing policy. Each AS is assigned a unique number (AS number) to identify it on the internet. ASes help manage data traffic and facilitate communication between different networks, enabling the smooth flow of information across the internet. Essentially, they are the building blocks of the internet's infrastructure, allowing various networks to efficiently exchange data while maintaining their own routing rules and policies.
