Artemis I

Artemis I is a landmark mission by NASA aimed at testing the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft. Launched in November 2021, this uncrewed mission serves as a precursor to future missions that will return astronauts to the Moon. It includes a journey around the Moon and back to Earth, demonstrating the technology and safety of the systems needed for human exploration. Artemis I is part of NASA's broader Artemis program, which seeks to establish a sustainable human presence on the Moon and eventually pave the way for missions to Mars.
