Aristo of Chios
Aristo of Chios was a Greek philosopher who lived around 260-230 BCE and was a student of the famous Stoic philosopher Zeno. He is known for his contributions to Stoicism, particularly for emphasizing ethics and the importance of living in accordance with nature. Unlike many Stoics, Aristo believed that only virtue is good and that all external things, like health and wealth, are indifferent. This perspective focused on inner character as essential for a meaningful life. His ideas were influential in the development of Stoic thought, even though many of his specific teachings are less well-documented than those of his contemporaries.
