aperture problem
The Aperture Problem refers to the challenge the brain faces when interpreting motion in a limited visual field. Imagine watching a car moving towards you through a small window: the car might seem to be moving straight or at an angle, but you can't see its full trajectory. This confusion arises because our visual perception can only process a snippet of the overall motion. The brain has to infer the true direction based on the limited information it receives, which can sometimes lead to misunderstandings about how objects are actually moving in space.
