ANZAC biscuit

ANZAC biscuits are traditional sweet cookies from Australia and New Zealand, named in honor of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who served during World War I. Made from oats, flour, coconut, sugar, butter, golden syrup, and baking soda, these biscuits are known for their chewy texture and rich flavor. They were originally sent by wives and women’s groups to soldiers because the ingredients could withstand long journeys without spoiling. Today, ANZAC biscuits are a symbol of remembrance and are often enjoyed as a snack or dessert, especially on ANZAC Day, April 25th.
