Antipositivism

Antipositivism is a philosophical approach that argues social sciences cannot be studied in the same way as natural sciences. While positivism emphasizes observation and empirical data as the basis for knowledge, antipositivism contends that human behavior is influenced by subjective experiences, meanings, and social contexts. Therefore, understanding society requires a focus on individual perspectives and interpretive methods, rather than just measurable data. In essence, it's about recognizing that human interactions and cultures are complex and often can't be fully understood through scientific measurement alone.
