Anaximander

Anaximander was a Greek philosopher from the 6th century BCE, known for his early contributions to cosmology, geography, and biology. He proposed the idea of the “apeiron,” meaning the boundless or infinite, as the source of all things. This was a significant shift from mythological explanations of the universe to more rational thought. Anaximander also suggested that Earth floats in space, developed one of the first maps of the known world, and speculated about the evolution of life, highlighting the interconnectedness of nature. His work laid the groundwork for subsequent philosophical and scientific inquiry.
