Amir Khusro

Amir Khusro was a 13th-century poet, musician, and scholar from India, renowned for his contributions to Persian and Hindi literature. Born in 1253, he served in the royal courts of several Delhi Sultanate rulers. Khusro is often called the "father of Qawwali," a devotional music genre, and is credited with popularizing the ghazal form of poetry in Indian literature.
