Aloysius Gonzaga (1568-1591) was an Italian Jesuit saint known for his deep spirituality and commitment to serving others. Born into a noble family, he chose a religious life over a life of privilege. He is recognized for his compassion, particularly during a plague outbreak in Rome, where he cared for the sick. Gonzaga’s dedication to his faith and education inspired the establishment of Jesuit schools emphasizing academic excellence and moral integrity. He became the patron saint of students and young people, embodying the ideals of selflessness and devotion. His feast day is celebrated on June 21.
