Aloha Protocol
The Aloha Protocol is a method for managing how multiple computers share a common communication channel to send data. In this system, devices transmit data whenever they want, but if two send at the same time, their messages collide and are garbled. After a collision, each device waits a random amount of time before trying again. This simple approach allows devices to share the network without complex coordination, but it can lead to inefficiencies when many devices try to send data simultaneously. Aloha was a pioneering concept for early wireless communication networks and forms the basis for more advanced protocols.
