ALOHA System

The ALOHA system is a simple method for managing wireless communication between devices. It was designed to allow multiple users to send data over a shared channel without prior coordination. In ALOHA, users send their data whenever they like. If two devices transmit at the same time, their messages collide and are lost. They detect this and wait a random time before trying again. This approach, while easy to implement, can lead to inefficiencies as more users join. ALOHA laid the groundwork for later, more sophisticated communication protocols used in networks today.
