Aloïse Corbaz

Aloïse Corbaz (1886–1964) was a Swiss artist known for her unique, often vivid paintings and drawings, which reflect her mental health struggles. Diagnosed with schizophrenia, she was institutionalized for much of her life. Corbaz's artwork is characterized by intricate details, vibrant colors, and themes of love and fantasy, often inspired by her personal experiences, including her obsession with a famous singer. Although she faced significant challenges, her works are now celebrated for their emotional depth and originality, contributing to the narrative of outsider art and the exploration of mental health through creativity.
