Al-Sufi
Al-Sufi was a renowned 10th-century Persian astronomer who made significant contributions to the understanding of stars and the night sky. He is best known for his Atlas of the Stars, where he cataloged over 1,000 stars, describing their positions, brightness, and constellations. His work helped bridge Greek star charts and later European astronomy. Al-Sufi also identified and named stars and constellations that are still recognized today. His observations improved the accuracy of star positions and deepened our knowledge of celestial patterns, making him a key figure in the history of astronomy.
