Akbar II

Akbar II was the Mughal Emperor of India from 1837 to 1857, a period marked by declining power of the Mughal dynasty. He was the son of Akbar I and ruled over a fragmented empire weakened by British colonial expansion. Despite his title, he had limited authority and was largely a figurehead, with real power held by the British. Akbar II attempted to promote cultural and religious harmony but faced challenges due to India’s increasing political unrest. His reign ended as the Indian Rebellion of 1857 erupted, leading to the formal end of the Mughal Empire and British direct rule.
