AHRS (Attitude and Heading Reference System)

An Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) is a device used in aircraft and other vehicles to determine their orientation in space. It provides critical data about the vehicle’s pitch (up and down angle), roll (side to side tilt), and yaw (direction faced). AHRS combines information from sensors, such as accelerometers and gyroscopes, to create a reliable picture of where the vehicle is pointed, even in low visibility. This data is essential for safe navigation and control, helping pilots and automated systems understand how the craft is positioned relative to the Earth.
