Stability Augmentation
Stability augmentation refers to techniques used to enhance the stability of vehicles, particularly aircraft. When an aircraft is affected by forces like wind or turbulence, it can become difficult to control. Stability augmentation systems use sensors and software to detect these disturbances and automatically make small adjustments to the control surfaces (like ailerons and elevators) to help keep the aircraft on its intended path. This makes flying smoother and safer, especially in challenging conditions, allowing pilots to focus more on navigation rather than constantly correcting for instability.
