Agency vs. Structure

Agency and structure are two concepts that explain how individuals interact with society. "Agency" refers to the ability of individuals to make choices and act independently, influencing their own lives and environments. In contrast, "structure" refers to the societal systems, norms, and institutions that shape and limit those choices. In essence, while agency highlights personal freedom and action, structure emphasizes the constraints and frameworks that guide behavior.
