Absolute poverty
Absolute poverty refers to a condition where individuals lack the basic necessities for survival, such as food, clean water, shelter, and healthcare. It is defined by a minimum income threshold, often set at around $1.90 per day, below which people cannot meet their essential needs. This form of poverty is measured globally, highlighting severe deprivation and the inability to sustain a minimum standard of living. Unlike relative poverty, which considers income inequality within a specific context, absolute poverty focuses strictly on the absence of resources required to maintain basic human life.
