A.E. Waite
Arthur Edward Waite (1857-1942) was a British occultist, scholar, and writer known for his influential work in the field of Tarot and mysticism. He is best recognized for co-creating the Rider-Waite Tarot deck in 1909, which is one of the most popular Tarot decks used today. Waite sought to blend esoteric wisdom with accessible symbolism, making Tarot more meaningful for the general public. In addition to Tarot, he wrote extensively on mysticism, alchemy, and the Kabbalah, contributing significantly to the modern understanding of these spiritual subjects. His work remains influential in contemporary esoteric traditions.
