1911 Revolution

The 1911 Revolution, also known as the Xinhai Revolution, was a pivotal uprising that ended over two millennia of imperial rule in China. It was driven by dissatisfaction with the Qing Dynasty’s weakness, corruption, and inability to modernize. Chinese revolutionaries, inspired by nationalist and reformist ideas, organized protests and military actions that ultimately led to the overthrow of the imperial throne. On October 10, 1911, the revolution succeeded, establishing the Republic of China with Sun Yat-sen as a key leader. This transition marked the beginning of modern republican governance in China.
