Zuhandenheit (readiness-to-hand)
Zuhandenheit, or "readiness-to-hand," is a concept from philosopher Martin Heidegger that describes how we engage with tools and objects in our everyday life. When we use a tool, like a hammer, we often forget about the tool itself and focus on the task at hand, allowing the tool to become an extension of our own actions. In this state, we are attuned to the purpose of the tool rather than its physical presence. This idea highlights how our interactions with the world become seamless and intuitive when we are effectively using objects to achieve our goals.
