Young Earth Creationism

Young Earth Creationism (YEC) is a belief that interprets the Earth's age as being approximately 6,000 to 10,000 years, based on a literal reading of biblical texts, particularly the Book of Genesis. Proponents of YEC argue that the Earth and all living organisms were created by God in six days. They reject much of modern geology and evolutionary biology, asserting that scientific evidence supporting an older Earth and evolution is flawed or misinterpreted. YEC is a viewpoint within the broader creationist movement, which emphasizes faith in divine creation over scientific explanations for the development of life and the planet.
