Yingluck Shinawatra
Yingluck Shinawatra is a Thai politician who served as the Prime Minister of Thailand from 2011 to 2014. She was the first woman to hold this position in Thailand's history. Yingluck is the younger sister of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who was ousted in a military coup in 2006. Her administration focused on populist policies, including rice subsidies and economic development initiatives. However, she faced significant political opposition and protests, leading to her government's downfall and a subsequent military coup in 2014. Yingluck has since lived in exile due to a corruption conviction related to her policies.
