Watts Riots

The Watts Riots, which occurred in August 1965 in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, were a series of violent protests sparked by racial tensions. The riots began after the arrest of a Black motorist, provoking widespread outrage over police brutality and systemic racism. Over six days, violence erupted, resulting in 34 deaths, thousands of injuries, and extensive property damage.
