Wang Mang
Wang Mang was a Chinese politician and usurper who ruled briefly during the early 1st century CE, founding the Xin Dynasty. He is known for attempting radical reforms, including land redistribution and currency changes, aimed at addressing social inequality and corruption. His policies, however, faced resistance and led to economic turmoil. Wang's reign ended in 23 CE when rebel forces overthrew him, leading to the restoration of the Han Dynasty. His legacy is often viewed as a cautionary tale about the challenges of implementing reform in a complex society.
