Von Thünen Model

The Von Thünen Model is an agricultural land use theory that explains how different types of farming are located around a central city. According to the model, certain crops and activities are found closer to the city because they require more attention and spoil quickly, like fruits and vegetables. Farther out, less perishable products such as grains are grown. The model illustrates how transportation costs and the need to optimize land use influence farming choices, creating concentric circles of various agricultural practices around urban areas.
