Visual Odometry

Visual odometry is a technique used to estimate a vehicle's or robot's position and movement by analyzing the images captured by its cameras. As the device moves, it compares sequential images to detect changes in the surroundings. By tracking these changes, it can calculate how far and in what direction it has traveled. Essentially, visual odometry helps machines understand their location and orientation in space, enabling them to navigate effectively in various environments without relying solely on GPS or pre-existing maps.
