Virgin Mary

The Virgin Mary is a central figure in Christianity, revered as the mother of Jesus Christ. According to Christian belief, she conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit while remaining a virgin. Mary is often associated with virtues such as purity, compassion, and maternal devotion. In the New Testament, she appears in the Gospels, supporting Jesus throughout his life and ministry. Catholics and some other Christian denominations hold her in particularly high regard, celebrating various feasts in her honor and recognizing her role as an intercessor. Mary is also significant in Islam, where she is known as Maryam, the mother of the prophet Isa (Jesus).
