Virgin Birth
The term "virgin birth" generally refers to the belief that a child was conceived without sexual intercourse. In a religious context, it is most commonly associated with the birth of Jesus Christ, as described in the Christian tradition, where Mary, his mother, is said to have conceived him through the Holy Spirit while remaining a virgin. This concept signifies divine intervention and is central to the beliefs about Jesus' nature and mission. Outside of religion, the term can also refer to instances in nature where some animals can reproduce without mating, known as parthenogenesis.
