Verna system

The Verna system refers to a traditional social hierarchy in India, particularly among the Hindu population. It divides society into four main categories, or "varnas": Brahmins (priests and scholars), Kshatriyas (warriors and rulers), Vaishyas (merchants and farmers), and Shudras (laborers and service providers). Each group has specific roles and duties. Over time, this system evolved into a more complex caste system, influencing social interactions, occupations, and cultural practices. While it was historically significant, the Verna system has faced criticism and reform efforts, especially regarding social equality and discrimination.
