Ventricular Fibrillation

Ventricular fibrillation (VF) is a severe heart rhythm disorder where the heart's electrical signals become chaotic, causing the heart's lower chambers (ventricles) to quiver instead of pump blood effectively. This leads to a drastic drop in blood flow to vital organs, particularly the brain, which can result in unconsciousness, and if not treated quickly, can be fatal within minutes. VF is often a result of underlying heart conditions and is a common cause of sudden cardiac arrest. Immediate medical intervention, such as defibrillation, is critical to restore a normal heart rhythm.
