United States Court of International Trade

The United States Court of International Trade (USCIT) is a specialized federal court that handles cases involving international trade and customs issues. It resolves disputes related to tariffs, trade agreements, and import/export regulations. In contrast, the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML) consolidates related federal cases across different districts to streamline the legal process and avoid conflicting rulings. While the USCIT focuses specifically on international trade matters, the JPML enhances efficiency in managing several similar lawsuits by centralizing them before one judge. Both play important roles in the U.S. legal system but operate in different areas of law.
