United Progressive Alliance
The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is a coalition of political parties in India formed to work together in national governance. Led mainly by the Indian National Congress, it was formed to coordinate policies and support a common government, especially when no single party holds an outright majority in Parliament. The UPA focuses on social development, economic growth, and inclusive policies. It functioned from 2004 to 2014, aiming to address issues like poverty, healthcare, and education through collaborative efforts among member parties.
