Unión Patriótica

Unión Patriótica (UP) is a Colombian political party founded in 1985 that emerged from Colombia's civil conflict. It was meant to represent leftist ideals and promote peace, particularly after the 1980s peace process with guerrilla groups like FARC. The UP sought to engage in legitimate political activities but faced severe violence, including the assassination of many of its leaders and members, partly due to its association with the revolutionary movement.
