UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change)
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is an international treaty aimed at addressing climate change and its effects. Established in 1992, it provides a framework for countries to work together to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate impacts. The convention sets out goals for environmental sustainability and supports negotiations on climate action, including the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius. Countries that are parties to the UNFCCC meet regularly to assess progress and strengthen commitments to combat climate change collectively.
