Ulysses (spacecraft)

Ulysses was a pioneering spacecraft launched in 1990 by NASA and the European Space Agency to study the Sun from a unique perspective. Unlike other solar missions, Ulysses flew over the Sun's poles, allowing scientists to observe solar activity and its effects on the solar system. It helped improve our understanding of solar winds, magnetic fields, and their interactions with planets. Ulysses operated for nearly 19 years, providing valuable data that enhanced our knowledge of space weather and its influence on Earth and other celestial bodies before being decommissioned in 2009.
