Ulster
Ulster is one of the four provinces of Ireland, located in the northern part of the island. It comprises nine counties, but only six of them are part of Northern Ireland, which is a part of the United Kingdom. Ulster has a rich cultural history, influenced by Celtic traditions and later, English and Scottish settlement. The province has been the center of significant political conflict, particularly between those who identify as Irish nationalists and those who identify as British unionists. This tension was particularly pronounced during the late 20th century, known as "The Troubles."
