Ulnar collateral ligament
The ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) is a key ligament located in the inner part of the elbow. It connects the upper arm bone (humerus) to the two bones in the forearm (ulna). The UCL stabilizes the elbow joint, especially during activities that involve throwing or overhead motions. Injuries to this ligament, often seen in athletes, can result in pain and instability in the elbow. Treatment may involve rest, physical therapy, or, in severe cases, surgery to repair or reconstruct the ligament.
